Off Road Exploration Of The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area

What You Need To Know To Explore The Dunes Up Close And Personal!
The southern end of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area offers trails and dunes for all kinds of off road vehicles. Our campers tell us over and over, the advantages of our outstanding guest service, facilities, and security outweighs the short 0.6 mile drive out to the dunes. The access road to the dunes is partly sand, partly gravel, with a short section of asphalt that is legal to ride on. Don't forget you can access the dunes from your site 12 months of the year so there is no need to load up and trailer to a staging area
Want to ride on the beach? No problem. You can access the beach with a sand capable vehicle from your site. The road from the ODNRA park entrance to the beach is approximately 2 miles out through the dunes. Check out the NRA dune map below.
Riding Area
Don't have an off road vehicle? We have you covered. We do not recommend walking out into the dunes from our park. Hikers do not have flags on their heads to let dune riders know where you are. However, there are three outstanding options located near us.
Dune Bugs

We welcome Dune Bugs as advertisers in our site maps for the 2013/2014 season. The are located at the old Myrtlewood Factory just south of the campground. They rent ATV/UTV's, Sand Boards & Sleds. Mention our name to them to see if there are any specials when you arrive. If you bring a receipt from them to our store you can receive a free fountain drink for anyone renting 'toys'.

Steve' ATV Rentals

Conveniently located at our entrance, Steve's ATV Rentals have quads and side x side options. They also have dune tours available at their southern location at Box Car. These tours can provide the guest another option for viewing the dunes. You can not truly appreciate the beauty of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area until you get out into the sand.

Spinreel Dune Buggy and ATV Rentals

Located 15 minutes north of our campground Spinreel has rentals and dune tours.

From our park you can ride to Horsfall Beach, Horsfall Campground, and Spinreel. Our convenient central location to these areas plus our awarding winning facilities make us the ideal campground for your vacation.
